Goals and Visions for the Future!
Our Goals is to raise awareness to child abuse, child sexual abuse, bullying, teen dating violence, and to give children resources they need to reach out for help.
There are many resources available to help them, but children do not know of these resources and that makes them ineffective for many.
Our Goals and Visions for the Future is to build a camp for sexually abused children, a camp where survivors can move forward together, a place survivors can face obstacles that are in their way of recovery together. Camp Kukinga Watoto, meaning protecting children in Swahili.
Camp Kukinga Watoto will help a child heal from the inside out.
We exist to help children rise above, to help steer them away from the many things abuse victims turn to like drugs, alcohol, or suicide, and help them overcome to become a productive member of society. Rebuilding foundations destroyed by abuse, saving the future.
The biggest part of healing and moving beyond the abuse is knowing you are not alone. A place we can have fun together, enjoy life and be a kid.
A place where CSA survivors can take a strategic look at previous years and make decisions that will help them live through the year ahead and beyond. We will aim for a wholesome experience, balanced with exhilarating fun and life-transforming teaching.
Our camp will include God, as he is our light and helped us release our bitterness as the Holy Spirit filled us.
We will invite youth and teenage bands from across the country for exhilarating musical fun, we will have relationship building moments, skills-sharpening activities, mouth watering food, a dazzling fashion show, practical workshops, a variety of outdoor activities and inspiring testimonies around an unforgettable camp fire.
All kinds of activities, swimming, crafts, games, zip lining, parties, celebrate being young and being a survivor.
We also want the camp to be a real challenge as we help youth step up to some of the challenges they encounter in daily life after they leave camp.
We are currently looking at area camps to see what the costs are and talking with individuals, organizations and companies about helping sponsor and support a camp for sexually abused children. This is a huge goal and a vision we hope can come true. Camp Kukinga Watoto, A camp where the dreams of a better day can come true, and the sun always shines.
"I have learnt to seek truth and trust God will guide me to my future. I’m thoroughly equipped to make a difference in my generation" ~Dreamer~
